- Solved: Zoom blur option not available - Zoom CommunityThere is no blur. I cannot believe this fiasco! So many having the same issue as me and not a peep out of Zoom who has been touting their newest feature which doesn't work! I screwed around for half an hour on my Windows 10 bit machine, and all of a sudden, a pop-up, I installed it, and there it was!
But I have no idea what I did to invoke it. Thereafter, I have been trying to find this patch, to no avail.. Time to move on to some other software. I as well am not able to see a blur option on my virtual backgrounds menu on my laptop. I have updated Zoom to version 5. Would greatly appreciate any help which could be provided.
Same problem I have downloaded what seems to be the latest version, as no download came with the Pro upgrade. Called support but apparently Pro doesn't include technical support. Extremely frustrated You do not need to have a pro account to use "blur background".
I see that no comment here has been accepted as a solution for this, so I thought I would weigh in! If you cannot turn off the green screen option for virtual background, then your computer will not be compatible with the blur background feature. It is however an excellent starting point, and if your hardware is lower than the minimums listed here you will not be able to use "blur background" or "virtual background without a green screen". I do see now the blur option requires a processor of i5 or above and mine is just i3. I don't know why I didn't notice that requirement earlier. Anyway, at least I have the explanation now. The processor being an i5 is only half the story, just as important is how old the processor is, how many cores the processor has, and what GPU is paired with it.
If the blur background feature is missing from Zoom, the most likely reason for it aside from needing a software update is that your computer isn't new enough or powerful enough for it.
I currently have the same issue. No option to blur my background. And Yes I meet all the requirements to blur my background. I do not even have an option key to blur it, so this shows me it is an issue on Zoom's end.

I used to have the blur option but now it has dissapeared even though I am using the same computer: MacBookAir with macOS Monterey version And I'm using the latest version of zoom: version 5. I have signed in and out of zoom and switched computer on and off several times.
Please help us zoom people as this is very annoying! ClaireM - I am sorry to hear about the issues you are having. I do not know if it is directly related, but Apple introduced a few issues in the Monterey upgrade. Zoom is working with them to address the issues, so if this is the case, hopefully they will be resolved soon. I have been trying to get the blur option to work on my MacBook as well. There is no blur option in either my desktop app or going to the zoom desktop site however, when I tried the app on my iPhone, my background is blurred!
I have no idea how that happened and how to make this happen on my Mac which is where I really need it.
Has anyone figured this out? Additionally, Apple introduced a few issues with their Monterey upgrade, and Zoom is working with them to resolve those. I am not sure if the blurred background is one of them, and I am not able to test to see if that is the case. Have the same problem here. I'm using MacBook Air 1. Please please need help. If it is newer than that, it might be an issue with the Monterey upgrade. I'm having the same issue as well.
I have a MacBook Pro. Updated to Monterey and Zoom has been updated. When I initially updated, I saw the blur option but it just disappeared and no idea how to get it back. Anyone got any solutions or heard back from Zoom support? CatEu - If it was working before, obviously your computer has the right specs.
The only thing I can think of is that Apple introduced a few issues with the Monterey upgrade, so it may have to wait until those are resolved. Same issue for me - it used to work.
